I've had 'favorites' for several systems.. but the most memorable ones are:

Doom (PC) - Practically got me started with gaming. I remember when my dad first installed this game and I used to watch him play it until I was old enough to play myself. The best game of all time. No arguments.

Super Mario Brothers 3 (NES) - Likely the best Super Mario game ever made. Has there ever been a Super Mario game this fun, this varied, and this well-designed? I definitely don't think so! The neat map system in between levels really spiced things up, too, and the "racoon suit" is unforgettable!

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (GEN) - This is the first game I ever played for the Sega Genesis. It came bundled with the system, and I can remember playing and never being able to stop. I'd continuously make it to the same part of the game, die until my continues were gone, and have to restart the game, but I didn't care because it was so fun to play. One of the best platformers of all time, and dearly missed!

Super Mario World (SNES) - The second best Super Mario game ever created in my opinion. This game really helped the SNES shine. 'Nuff said.

Goldeneye 007 (N64) - Before Goldeneye 007, few people thought great first-person shooters were possible on consoles. Anyone remember some of the terrible DOOM ports on so many systems? But when Goldeneye came along, the Nintendo 64 suddenly had a title that was unmatched by any console, putting the Playstation to shame and showing that first-person shooters were not only possible, but they could be made well enough to make up what might be one of the greatest and most influential games of all time.

Starcraft (PC) - If you've not played Starcraft, you can't call yourself a strategy gamer. Starcraft is one of the best real-time strategy games ever made, and it raised the bar after Warcraft 2 in terms of how a real-time strategy game should work, and what it should be like. The online play was just phenomenal, and the game balance couldn't have been better.

Battlefield 1942 (PC) - Last but surely not least comes this multiplayer shooter that really inspired me to become a hardcore PC gamer. Once you get online, hop in a plane, take off, and start flying around, shooting at other planes and bombing ground targets - all while real players are running around and having battles of their own below you - you'll never look at multiplayer shooters the same!

The Greatest Video Game of my lifetime has to be Techmo Bowl, that is what started my addiction to video games. the resident evil and silent hill games...
the clock tower games were decent as well

I agree. Tecmo Bowl was the ish.
